Contact Lenses - have you ever considered wearing them?

Have you ever considered wearing contact lenses for sport, or socially or just to have a change from glasses? We offer all brands of contact lenses and encourage our patients to consider them for sport, reading, and everyday activities. Multifocal contact lenses are now available in a wide variety of prescriptions.

We offer an extensive contact lens range and specific consultations that enable you to feel completely comfortable wearing and taking care of your lenses. Free trials of contact lenses are also available.

For those existing contact lens wearers, we are able to offer replacement of your lenses and regular examinations, at an affordable cost.

Disposable Contact Lenses

Nearly all the soft lenses prescribed are 'disposable' or 'frequent replacement' contact lenses and these are designed to be discarded after a short period of time. This time interval can range from one day to three months depending on the particular type of disposable lens

One of the great advantages of disposable lenses is that it is usually possible to undertake a lens-wearing trial on a prospective contact lens patient using a diagnostic lens from a disposable lens inventory.

The Advantages

Contact lenses have many advantages over spectacles.

For many visual conditions, such as high myopia, high hyperopia and high astigmatism, contact lenses provide better vision than spectacles.

Contact Lenses

Contact lenses provide a wider field of view as the side vision is not blocked by spectacle frames. This is especially the case for people who are required to wear contact lenses after cataract removal.

Contact lenses do not 'fog up' with changes in temperature or from perspiration and they are unaffected by rain. They are also generally preferred to spectacles for water and contact sports.
