Eye-light IPL: A new treatment for dry eye
A new way of treating Dry Eye has recently arrived in our clinic. The Eye-Light IPL machine uses intensive pulsed light and low level light therapy to stimulate the oil glands around the eyes, and enhance their production of oil into your tears. This will aid in improving your uncomfortable and annoying dry eye symptoms by enabling the oil layer to function and subsequently restoring the tear film to its normal healthy state.
It is a pain free and quick treatment option which only takes a few minutes and allows an immediate return to normal activities. There is no down time and no messy gel application onto the face. It also has the added benefits of treating any acne, rosacea or dermatitis located within the same area. A typical treatment plan will require between 3-4 sessions with the Eye-Light machine and then a 6monthly review thereafter.
